We had visited Czułów District last summer, when we went to see St.Joseph the Worker Church in Tychy. One spring day we decided to see more of the Northern District and to walk farther along Katowice Street. We wanted to reach the Enclawa Hotel & Restaurant ("The Enclave" in English) that I had seen on Google Maps. We passed several quiet streets of the Old Town until we reached Katowice Street leading to our destination that I had called "The Nice Tower".

We could not help passing the famous Tyskie Prince's Brewery occupying a large area in several streets.

The brewing chamber proudly stands at the entrance to the new premises of the brewery reminding us of the sophisticated equipment that was used to satisfying the cuwtomers' tastes. I thought the container was very old, but the manufacture label reads that it was produced in 1970.

We were surprised to see that the brewing container was lit underneath creating a nice atmosphere of joy.

Like at many other industrial enterprises, the Tyskie Brewery fence is adorned with a funny graffiti.

We saw many nice-looking private houses in Katowice street, and I could not help taking a picture of some of them, even though the house owners might havr objected to it. Sorro for the inconvenience, if any, dear townsmen!

The Silesian Insurgents Memorial was on our left-hand side (uneven numbers) as we walked towards our destination.

We also passed several fishing ponds on our way: Zhogalik Pond located behing the houses with even numbers in Katowice Street and Drobowizna Pond and Zapadlisko Pond located on our left hand as we walked, at the uneven numbers of Katowicka Street.

Even though officially the Catholic people here do not pray to icons or revere them like people in Ukraine, we saw numerous images of Virgin Mary that we would call icons and pray to them. We saw another roadside chpel dedicated to Virgin Mary in this street.

Approaching our destination, we passed the bridge across the River Mlechna ("Milky River") in this street.

Hi Victor, I had just finished a lovely bottle of tyskie when I read your blog. All the best.

by irenevt

Hello, Irene! It's nice to know that! Tyskie is a famous beer brand indeed...

by Vic_IV

it must have been an interesting walking day! Thanks for sharing! :)

by Ils1976

Thanks for reading! We enjoy such walks and continue our exploration of the city.

by Vic_IV

Quite a walk you had, either it was long-ish or there was lots to see on the way, either way, lovely! :)
Did you find a restaurant to eat in or were you just on a walk? :)

by hennaonthetrek

Thanks, Henna! I must confess we rarely go to restaurants. My wife does not trust the cleanliness of their dishes... We usually take our lunchbag and some water or juice with us...
