These characteristic crosses can be seen on the top of the church and on the wall of a church building in the courtyard. They are in the style characteristic of Stanislaw Nemczyk (1943-2019). The architect had insisted on the special form of these crosses, and his design was accepted even by the highest church authorities. Stanislaw Nemczyk is known as the Polish Gaudi. He designed and built the church in the style of the postmodern architecture in 1978-1982. According to the architect's plan, the temple is shaped like an ark.

St.Father Pio Cathedral, Tychy
Church of St. Padre Pio is a complex of three buildings, built in the Neo-Romanesque style. The roof of the church was designed so that it does not have pillars, supports or extensions within the nave. Everything is made of brick. Architect Niemczyk loved this construction materials. This material is an extremely labor-intensive task for contractors, therefore construction takes a lot of time. It is still to be completed. Fingers crossed!
We saw this interesting structure from afar, and one day decided to come closer and to have a look. This edifice has been under construction since 2000. The construction has been ongoing for 22 years, which is influenced by many factors, including the enormous extent of the construction, the cost of the materials, as well as the accuracy and precision with which the building must be created to fulfill the plan of the great architect. It is going to be a church and a monastery at the same time.

The project was made by Stanisław Niemczyk (1943-2019) in cooperation with Anna and Robert Wojtecki, and Marta and Leszek Weszke. Porcjunculula Chapel was the first building erected on the site of the future temple. It was a symbol of the beginning - the history of the Franciscans began 800 years earlier with the small chapel of the Portiuncula near Assisi. Thus, the chapel was like the cornerstone of the entire church. The architect adopted the concept of a vertical composition - a two-story church, high towers, a multi-story monastery building. The architect included such symbolic elements important for Franciscan spirituality as:
- the Porcjunculula chapel;
- the symbolic tomb of St. Francis that is placed in the lower church;
- the cross of San Damiano, outlined on the ceiling of the lower church.

The church and monasteries complex of St. Francis and Clare of Assisi designed by Stanisław Niemczyk is commonly known as "Little Assisi". The church is designed on the plan of the Franciscan cross. It has five towers in reference to the five wounds of Christ and the five stigmas of St. Francis. The character of the entire complex refers to medieval architecture, especially to St. Francis of Assisi.

A street was built between the church and the monastery walls, its atmosphere resembling the narrow streets of medieval Assisi. The appearance of the sacred complex is also unique due to the material from which it is made - blocks of light dolomite mined and imported all the way from Libiąż. The concrete is another important building material used here. It is partly colored in red, graphite-black and brown (like umber - the color of the land of Umbria, in which Assisi is located). The author of the design, Stanisław Niemczyk, died in 2019 without seeing the completion of the construction of the temple.

According to the memorial plaques at the entrance, St.Maximilian Kolbe Church was built on the southern outskirts of the city in 1988-1996. Its cornerstone was consecrated by Pope John Paul II on June 20, 1983.
The church was consecrated on December 22, 1996. The design was made and implemented by architects Bożena and Janusz Włodarczykowie.
The statue of Christ the Redeemer that stands in front of the entrance to the church was unveiled in August 2001.
Like in some other churches, there are images of the 14 Stations of the Cross in the church courtyard.
We saw a Coalminers' Memorial at St.Joseph the Worker's Church. There is a representation of a coalmine with coal miner's lamps and an image of St.Barbara, the patron of all coal miners, s well as a coal miner's sign above it.

The saying on the coat-of-arms of Wilkowyje, church pavilion, Tychy
We liked this saying on the coat-of-arms of Wilkowyje that is attached to the entrance to the parish pavilion in the courtyard of Our Lady Queen of Angels Cathedral in Wilkowyje: "The wolf is not to blame for the fact that God created him a wolf."
The modern stain glass is beautiful.
