Our local friends took us to the Muchawka Lagoon is one of the most popular places for summer rest in the vicinity of Siedlce. The bathing area is on the eastern side of the reservoir, at the intersection of Plażowa and Okrężna streets.

There is a swimming area with a pier and a sandy beach. You can have an outing on pedal boats and kayaks, which are available for rent. For the youngest there is a playground and inflatables, and for the elderly, there are volleyball courts, an outdoor gym and a street workout zone with pull-up bars, ladders, handrails and gymnastic rings. Pedestrians and visitors can catch their breath on benches, and cyclists can secure their bikes in bicycle racks.

There are also designated areas for barbecue and for eating under umbrellas. If you opt for a longer stay at the reservoir, you can take advantage of accommodation in wooden cottages at the Cicha Stanica Resort (“Quiet Station”). There is a bar with a daily changing menu and a pizzeria. There is also a barbecue shed for al fresco dining. On weekends, karaoke evenings, discos and outdoor concerts are organized in the Cicha Stanica.

We attended the 16th Street Theaters Festival called "Under the Skies”. The Municipal Culture Center in Siedlce has been the organizer of this festival. Siedlce turns out to be one of the few cities in Poland that can boast of such an event, during which even world-famous stars present themselves. It is a unique event in the city, during which the viewer, who is in an open public space, has direct contact with the actors and can become an active participant in the performance. As the festival organizers say, they want to provide viewers with many emotions, joy, reflection and make them think over their own lives and also show them how important the lively contact of the viewer with the actor is.

“Kaspar” performance presented by TBP - Teatr Biuro Podróży (“Travel Bureau Theater”) from Poznań

As we found out from TBP, Kaspar Hauser is a historical figure. He was nicknamed “the orphan of Europe” and “the wolf child” . He was brought up without contact with people. He spent his childhood alone, enclosed in a small room. His toy hirse was his only toy. When, one afternoon, to the surprise of the city residents, he unexpectedly appeared on the square in Nuremberg, “horse” was the only word he could say. Kaspar doesn't know who he is, he doesn't know people, he can't do anything. He fully depends on the good or bad will of the community in which he appeared.

There were eight actors in the show, and we enjoyed the acting of Bartosz Boroski, who acted as Kaspar.

The Kaleidoscope Scene Therater is an independent theater, thanks to which it works without any restrictions. Unrestricted creation gave the foundations to create an original artistic space by presenting broadly understood audiovisual art.

Kaleidoscope Scene Theater fom Krakow presented its performance called Kamienny - a fairy-tale spectacle, where you could feel no language or cultural barriers due to the universality of the message of this show. As many as thirteen characters appear on the stage, each in a different, extremely effective costume. Viewers had the opportunity to admire as many as eleven dazzling theater masks.

The Hom Theater from Tychy presented its performance Don Quixote – just the one we had seen in Tychy last June. We were more than happy to see it again here. It was like Tychy had come to visit us.

Sancho Pansa’s words from the performance, “A town that like a town. There are many of such towns in the world, and all of them are alike. Hustle and bustle and tumult. The mighty are rich, the paupers are poor, the thieves steal, and the children laugh. Huddle. Noise. Quiet adultery and loud prayers. Matrons, money, furious wives, lovers, and you cannot distinguish who is who, because they hide so cleverly... Houses, a slaughterhouse, a market and a mill...”

How does the world treat the alienated dreamers like Don Quixote today? What fate can they count on in this patriarchal community? Can Dulcinea be a model of women’s virtues? These are the rhetorical questions the performance asked us...
Don Quixote was a monumental outdoor spectacle with live music performed by Flamenco Master Michał Czachowski and saxophonist Michał Sosna. No wonder all the viewers stood up at the end of the performance and there was a lot of applause.

To visit this or that interesting place, we simply walk or use the city buses, of which there are about 40 routes. The mobile phone application, the city map and the bus stops themselves provide us great help in this.

We should also remember about local dishes and traditions on the culinary trail named Mazowiecka Micha Szlachecka. We pass a couple of restaurant nearby, among them Sultan Indian Restaurant, Baku Azerbaijani Restaurant, Verona Pizzeria, Brama Cafe, the latter one being No.1 on the culinary list of the city. They are all within faily easy reach from where we are stayig. All right, seeing is believing. We will drop in for some coffee or for a beer some day.
You can also have an interesting experience on the culinary trail by visiting the former manor in Mościbrody (Dwór Mościbrody) that is often called “a real symbol of Polishness”. It is located about five miles away, outside of the city limits.
The manor dates back to the first half of the 19th century. It is surrounded by a complex of fish ponds.
Today, the manor is a hotel with guest rooms for 60 guests and a restaurant full of traditional dishes, among them carp dishes.
The advertisement addressed the residents of Warsaw (the city is about 100 km away) saying that if they want to forget about the capital hustle and bustle for a moment, they can plan a walk between the ponds amidst the sounds of water birds.
I believe we should go to Mościbrody Manor someday and take a look. It's only five miles away from where we are staying now.
